Class Descriptions (Not self-explanatory in their title)
A Taste of Salsa Fest = This class is intended for those who have never danced Salsa before and intend to take workshops on Saturday & Sunday at the Festival. This class starts with the basic steps and gets you ready to take any Beg/Inter Salsa class on Saturday and/or Sunday. It is intended to be taken as a series from A-D to be ready to have fun the entire weekend.
Advanced Cross Body Leads Mambo: Mambo style on 2 class as taught by Latin Street Dancing as one of the intermediate classes in their Mambo curriculum.
Afro-Cuban Body Movement: This class uses movements from dances in the Orisha, Rumba & Congo to work the full body for mobility, flexibility & Control, while adding style to Salsa.
Afro-Latin Jazz Fusion: Class designed to merge the modern style of today's Jazz with traditional afro-caribbean movements and blend in your typical Salsa/mambo moves. Challenge yourself to move "Out of the Box" and expand your dance limits.
Ballroom Cha Cha Cha Footwork: Learn your basic Cha Cha Cha footwork "Ballroom Style" with fun new steps,cool patterns, and great technique that will surely spice up the dance floor.
Cuban Son: Traditional Cuban dance. One of the basic ingredients to your Salsa dancing.
Follows fearless Footwork: Lisa "La Boriqua"'s ladies styling class to get the ladies moving, rolling & shaking.
Guaguanco: Traditional Cuban dance. One of the basic ingredients to your Salsa dancing.
HotOn1Salsa Turn Combinations: The combinations will show the students on how to keep dance floor etiquette with Intermediate combinations. Also in class they will understand how to present signals to their partner when trying a new move to a beginner or Intermediate.
It's all about the partner & the music: You will learn 2 or 3 Intermediate patterns. At the end of the class you will understand how to lead and follow more effectively to make your dance more fun to the partner. Techniques on Hand & body positioning and much more.
Ladies Performance & Competition Choreography: Ladies will be taught performance styling and competition essentials to create your own choreographies (musicality, song choice, body Movement, dance variety, styling, presentation & footwork)
Let's Start Turning Heads: Salsa class as tought in the Latin Street dancing curriculum.
NYC Mambo: Mambo style on 2 class as taught by Latin Street Dancing as the first class of their Mambo curriculum
Play to The Conga: Learn to play the Conga patterns that make you dance. Learn the basics of the tumbao and how to listen to the Conga while dancing. This is a music class where you get to play the rhythms that you dance tirelessly.
Rueda de Casino: Cuban style dance. Traditionally danced in Miami and danced as team in a circular motion. Every move can also be danced individually as a couple as well.
Rumba - Yambu: Traditional Cuban dance. One of the basic ingredients to your Salsa dancing.
Salsa Threesome: Have you seen those cool guys from New Jersey dance with 2 ladies at the same time? or those two crazy Colombian dudes dancing with one lady? this is it!
Soul*sa: is a style that teaches adapt-ability between linear and circular styles of Salsa. Each student will learn about Salsa's 3 main movements and how to transition from dancing linear to circular and back.
